OneScoop does not collect anything. There is no server run by the developer, no account, and no analytics. Your data stays on your devices and, if you leave iCloud backup on, in your own iCloud account. The developer never sees it.
OneScoop saves the following:
On your iPhone, this data is kept in a shared container so that the app and its widget can both read it.
If iCloud backup is on (Settings, then iCloud), OneScoop also keeps a copy of this data in your own iCloud account using Apple’s iCloud key-value storage. This lets your history come back if you reinstall the app or set up a new device with the same Apple Account.
This copy is stored by Apple under your Apple Account. The developer has no access to it. You can turn iCloud backup off at any time; the data then stays on your device only.
If you use the OneScoop Apple Watch app, your iPhone and Apple Watch exchange today’s creatine status, your streak and today’s water directly with each other using Apple’s Watch Connectivity. This data does not go through any server.
If you turn on Apple Health in the water settings, OneScoop saves the water you log to Apple Health and reads water from Apple Health that other apps have saved, so it can count toward your daily goal, appear in your history and shape your reminders. If you turn on the workout-day goal, OneScoop also reads whether you worked out on a given day, to raise that day’s water goal. If you turn on the after-workout reminder, OneScoop reads your workouts to remind you about creatine when one ends. If you tap “Get from Apple Health” in the water calculator, OneScoop reads your most recent body weight once, only to fill in the calculator. OneScoop only asks for water, workouts and body weight. This data is read and written on your device; it is not sent to the developer or to anyone else, and it is not used for advertising. You can change or revoke this access at any time in the Health app or in your iPhone’s Settings.
OneScoop+ is a one-time in-app purchase handled by Apple. The developer does not receive your payment details.
If you turn on the daily reminder, OneScoop schedules local notifications on your device. These are generated by your iPhone and are not sent through any server.
Settings, then Reset all data, removes everything the app stored, including the iCloud copy and the copies on your other devices when iCloud backup is on.
Deleting the app removes the data on that device. If iCloud backup is on, the copy in your iCloud account remains until you reset it from within the app, or remove it in your iPhone’s Settings under your Apple Account, iCloud, Manage Storage.
OneScoop collects no data from anyone, including children.
